PROF. DR. HAB. ZIEMOWIT KUKULSKI

Doctor of laws (with post-doctoral degree), head of the Tax Law Department at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz and head of the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies. Since 2011 to 2022 deputy head of the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies. Public notary. Member of the Anti-Tax Avoidance Council in 2018-2020. Secretary of the Scientific Board at the National Chamber of Tax Advisors. Member of the Scientific Board of the Polish Notary Institute. Member of the European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP). Author and co-author of articles, publications and commentaries in the field of domestic, international and EU tax law, including English-language publications. Lecturer at foreign universities: Luarasi University in Tirana (Albania), Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte (Brazil), Fudan University (China), Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (China), Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic), Caucasus International University in Tbilisi (Georgia), University of Szeged (Hungary), University of Vigo (Spain), and University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom)

 

PROF. DR. HAB. WŁODZIMIERZ NYKIEL

Professor of law, between 2008-2016 Rector of the University of Lodz, until 2022 head of the Tax Law Department of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz, founder (1997) and until 2022 head of the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies. Author of four books and co-author or editor of fifteen ones. Prof. Nykiel wrote more than 120 articles, glosses and other studies. Lecturer at faculties of law in Bologna, Bari, Taranto (Italy), Grenoble and Tours - as professeur invité (France), and at Wirtschafts Universität in Vienna (Austria). Prof. Nykiel was, inter alia, a member of the Prime Minister's State Reforms Council (1998, 1999), a judge of the State Tribunal (1997-2001), the President of the State Examination Commission for Tax Advisers (2002-2007), a member of the Polish Legislative Council (2006-2010). He belongs to the European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP), he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the IBFD (International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation) in Amsterdam. Since 2002 he belongs to International Fiscal Association; in 2005-2011 he was a member of Executive Committee of this organisation. Prof. Nykiel is also a member of Lodz Scientific Society. He is the editor-in-chief of "Tax Law Quarterly" ("Kwartalnik Prawa Podatkowego"). Finally, he belongs to Programme Boards of "Tax Review" (Przegląd Podatkowy), "Law and Taxes" (Prawo i Podatki) and Advisory Board "EC Tax Review". Prof. Nykiel is a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Poland. In 2016 he was awarded a honorary doctorate from the University of Wrocław.

 

DR. MAŁGORZATA SĘK

Małgorzata Sęk

Doctor of Laws. Since 2022 deputy head of the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies. Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz (2004). In the years 2004 - 2007 tax inspector (tax decisions and advance tax rulings in the area of tax on goods and services). Since October 2007, assistant professor at the Tax Law Department and specialist at the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies, University of Lodz. Since May 2011, Vice President of the Foundation Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies. In the academic year 2008/2009 research fellow at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Mondi Packaging Research Fellowship). Author and co-author of publications and expert opinions in the field of tax law, including English-language publications. Speaker and participant of numerous tax conferences and seminars in Poland and abroad. Her research interests include international and EU tax law (in particular the EU common system of value added tax), tax on goods and services, as well as selected aspects of general substantive tax law and tax proceedings.

DR. IRENEUSZ NOWAK

IN

Doctor of laws, graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz and Postgraduate Tax Law Studies, organized by the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies. Since 2008 associate professor in the Tax Law Department at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz. He received doctor's degree in 2009. He actively takes part in organizing conferences, including National Students Conferences by the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies and the Foundation of Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies. He was a scientific secretary during coorganized by the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies 4th Summer Doctoral Workshops (Lodz 2011). His research interests include Polish tax law system, tax proceedings and protection of taxpayer's rights.

MAŁGORZATA STANKIEWICZ

Małgorzata Stankiewicz

1993 -1998 administrative service of an office of the programme TEMPUS at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz (realization of two projects: JEP 4180 "LEGIS" and JEP 8036 "COMMUNICATION"); 1998 – 2003 director of the dean's office at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz; since November 2003 senior specialist at the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies and Director of the Foundation Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies.

DR. ALEKSANDRA KRAJEWSKA

Aleksandra Krajewska

PhD in law, graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Łódź, associate of the Center for Tax Documentation and Studies and the CDISP Foundation, Senior Tax Consultant at KPMG Tax M.Michna Sp. k., legal advisor. Lecturer at postgraduate studies in tax law and accounting. Author and co-author of publications and expert opinions in the field of tax law (including monographs, commentaries to acts, articles, opinions and an academic textbook). Participant of numerous tax conferences, both nationwide and international, participant of Eucotax Wintercourse in Osnabrück (2013). Her research interests include taxation of the extractive industries.

DR. JAROSŁAW NENEMAN

Jarosław Neneman (Ph. D) is an assistant professor at Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Lodz and at the Lazarski University in Warsaw. In years 2004 – 2005, 2006 and 2014 – 2015 Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance responsible for tax policy and legislation. In the years 2010-2014, voluntary counsellor to the Polish President dealing with local governments. Since 2011 Chairman of the Council of the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies Foundation in Lodz. While not working for the Ministry of Finance, he teaches Microeconomics, Public Finance, Managerial Economics, Introduction to Game Theory and Tax Policy, alongside writing reports on tax issues and textbooks on applied economics for students.

 

DR. ANETA NOWAK-PIECHOTA

ANP

Doctor of Law, assistant professor at the Tax Law Department , University of Lodz. Since 2009 associated with the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies and the Foundation of Tax Documentation and Studies. In the years 2015 – 2018 secretary of "Tax Law Quarterly" ("Kwartalnik Prawa Podatkowego"). Lecturer of postgraduate studies at the University of Lodz. Author and co-author of publications and expert opinions in the field of tax law, including analyses prepared for the legislative process. Speaker (also as a national reporter) and participant in tax conferences in Poland and abroad. Participated in international and national research projects (coordinated by, among others: IBFD in Amsterdam, Wirtschaftuniersität in Vienna, and Tilburg University). Member of the Scientific Association in Tax Law. In 2018 granted with Prime Minister’s award for an outstanding doctoral dissertation. Laureate of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for achievements in science (2010). Tax adviser, attorney at law, and certified accountant. Her research interests include direct business taxation.

PROF. DR. HAB. DARIUSZ STRZELEC

dstrzelecDoctor of laws (with post-doctoral degree), associate professor at the Tax Law Department at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz; tax adviser, advocate, specializing in tax law; member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA); member of the National Examination Board for Tax Caonsultancy for the 5th term. Author and co-author of more than 200 publications on tax law, including monographs concerning infringements of tax law proceedings by tax authorities, taxation of unrevealed income and taxation of fringe benefits. Lecturer during trainings on tax law for businessmen, tax advisers, financial directors and holdings, as well as, during organized trainings for the National Chamber of Tax Advisers.

DR. MICHAŁ WILK

Michał Wilk

Doctor of laws, associate professor at Tax Law Department at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Łódź University, partner at Wilk Latkowski Doradcy Podatkowi i Radcowie Prawni, associate at the Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies and the Foundation Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies, deputy editor-in-chief of Tax Law Quarterly, legal advisor, tax advisor. Member of Polish Branch of International Fiscal Association, member of the management board of Association of PhD Students and Doctors of Tax Law, founder of the podatkifirmowe.pl blog and laureate of the Minister of Science and Higher Education scholarship for outstanding young researchers. One of the two best tax advisors in Poland in 2021 in the corporate income tax category according to the 15th Ranking of Tax Advisory Companies by "Rzeczpospolita".
